The Keystone pipeline system is a proposed line that would carry crude oil and dilbit from Canada and eventually terminate at the Texas Gulf coast. The project is ready to go at any time, but the Obama administration delayed approval until after this year’s presidential election.

When questioned about it, White House press secretary Jay Carney blamed Republicans for making Obama delay approval of the pipeline. It seems they put a provision in last December’s payroll tax bill that required Obama to approve or deny the pipeline’s permit in 60 days.

The project has been in limbo with the State Department for years, and that is exactly where Obama wanted it to stay. Facing a tough election, Obama had no desire to anger his wealthy environmental activist donors, or the stupid hippies who vote for him, by approving this project before November. He delayed it to help get reelected, and he’s lying by having Carney blame Republicans for it.

This is unfortunate because this pipeline would immediately result in 20,000 well-paying construction jobs and a further 100,000 jobs at the refineries where the heavy oil would be refined into 700,000 barrels of oil a day. In addition to putting a lot of people to work, it would also help lessen our dependence on foreign oil and ease some of the pain at the pump.

This is a perfect example of why I’m a Royalist and have never recognized the illegal U.S government, except for George Washington, Andrew Jackson, and Teddy Roosevelt. Those guys were awesome. If we had a king, this goddamn pipeline would have already been approved, and that sweet Alberta crude would be closer to my gas tank.
